Series Blur Performance
Year: 2014
Description:
The series Blur Performance recreates in public spaces, scenes captured by the camera of Google Street View. All the actions are based on persons that were partially or completely blurred by the automatic system recognition of Google. Actions as walking, standing and waiting for the traffic lights to change, are remade in the same physical space where the photographed persons were.
The performer is covered by a structure that recreates the blurs of the images in Google Street View. Through the process of translate scenes from the digital to the physical context, the series Performance stresses the questions about the meaning of real privacy in public spaces and the influence of digital images in the culture.
